IRIS is the collaborative graphic design practice of Chris Baker and Ed Ryan, focused on developing publications, identity systems, exhibition graphics, and websites for artists, brands, and institutions. From a page in a book to didactics on a gallery wall, we approach design contextually and compositionally, working to build meaning and intrigue through a careful balance of research, reference, and experimentation.
The work is bespoke and circumstantial, resulting in long-lasting solutions informed by our collaborators as much as it is shaped by our studio. Our particular interest is in the form of the book, though we seek out and welcome new challenges and forms to investigate across media.
